If It’s Too Cheap, It Probably Isn’t Real-Know How To Spot A Fake Watch

Posted by Tips Guides in Jewelry

If you are in the market for a real luxury watch you should plan on spending quite a bit of money. If you think you found a great deal on a luxury watch, make sure it is a real one and not a fake or knock off. Don’t get caught up in the great deal you think your getting and forget about quality.

If all your after is a knock off so you can sport the name, it will not be hard for you to find one. There are many Internet sites and auction sites that claim they are selling the real luxury watches, but are not. First clue will be the price. Anything under $250 is probably a knock off.

Just because you find a watch on a website does not mean it is a real luxury watch. Some knock off watches have some pretty official looking web sites. Make sure you buy your watch from a well known dealer to insure that you are not getting ripped off. If the only place you see a particular watch for sale is on the Internet this may be another sign that it is a knock off.

Luxury brands of watches are not sold at more than a 50% discount no matter what. Even the most aggressive dealer will not give you this big of a discount off the retail price. If the dealer is going to give you this good of a discount its probably a fake. Luxury brands are also not sold at clearance or end of the season sales. There is no need for the retailer to sell their valuable jewelry at such high discounts.

If you think you have found a real luxury watch, be sure to do your research. You can do this research right from home on the Internet. Do a search on the brand of watch you would like to purchase. If your watch is not a fake dealers will discuss its quality. Collectors and owners will also be discussing the assets of the watch. If you cant find anything like this when you do a search beware that it may be a knock off. A couple brands that tend to be imposters are Klaus Kobec, Krug Baumen, and Montre Suisse.

Just remember that any deal that looks too good to be true usually is. Luxury watches are not going to be sold at 70 to 95% off. These low prices are made to draw your attention away from the quality and onto the fact that you will be saving a ton of money. Make sure you pay attention to quality so you don’t get ripped off. Even if you save hundreds, you could save a lot more if you would have just went to the local store and skipped the middle man. When investing this much money into a watch, make sure you also invest the time to make sure it is a worth while investment.

How To Clean Your Diamonds Without Damaging Them

Posted by Tips Guides in Jewelry

Many of us have diamonds or other jewelry that may need to be cleaned. Our day to day activities cause these items to become dirty and in need of some care. Lotion, soap, and skin oil can cause a film to appear on your jewelry. Even if you don’t wear your jewelry everyday it can gather dust in storage. Here are a few things you can do to keep your jewelry looking its best.

One of the things you can do at home is wash your jewelry in a bowl of soapy water. Make sure you use a mild soap as to not damage your jewelry. You will want to use a soft, small brush with the mixture to get all the build up off. The soft bristles will be gentle enough for your diamonds, but will still get the build up loose so that you can rinse it off. It is important that you rinse your jewelry when you are done cleaning it to make sure you get the excess build up and soap off. After rinsing you will want to use a lint free towel if possible to pat the jewelry dry.

If you use this method of cleaning and are not satisfied with the results you may want to try using a mixture of half water half ammonia. You can soak your ring for half an hour in this solution. After your jewelry is done soaking you will want to use a small, soft brush to clean it. Next you will rinse the jewelry in the solution again, and then rinse under warm water before towel drying.

You can find jewelry cleaning kits at the store that are ready to go. These kits are not all the same so make sure that your jewelry will be safe in the kit you purchase. Some kits come with everything you need to clean your jewelry. Some require you do to the cleaning, while others are just a solution you leave your ring in.

If you would rather not try cleaning your jewelry yourself there are a couple other options you have available to you. You can now buy jewelry cleaners that use high frequency to clean your jewelry. All you do is put your jewelry in the cleaner and turn it on and it does the work for you. Once again you will need to read the instructions to make sure that the jewelry you want to clean will be safe in the machine.

Another option you have is to take your jewelry to a jeweler to have it cleaned. If you are going to be out running some errands you could drop it off on the way, and pick it up when you are finished with your errands. Some places provide this service at no cost to you. This is an easy way to make sure your diamonds are cleaned properly. You don’t have to worry about making sure you are not damaging your diamonds since you are letting a professional clean it for you.

The Suprising Trend Of The Upper Class And Older Women Who Are Getting Their Belly Pierced

Posted by Tips Guides in Jewelry

Throughout the wonderful world of tattooing and body piercing, you will see a wide range of individuals sporting a piece of body art that they call their very own. Often, it is the younger generation that has embraced this shout of expression, but there are numerous groups of lesser known participants that you may have never thought of. The piercing craze has extended beyond pop stars and Baywatch babes. Soccer moms of 40, who shuffle the kids to ballet and Brownies are piercing their belly buttons. There are executives overseeing billion dollar budgets with pierced bellies; virtually every gender, economic and social class has thousands showing off a piece of body jewelry.

What you probably don’t know is that their numbers are increasing. Although, many of them keep it to themselves and often wait years before they reveal their body jewelry, it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Unlike other piercing areas, the belly button is one of those things you can easily keep under wraps if you want to. This kind of covertness may not last too long when the warm weather of the springtime and beaming sun during the summer make an appearance. Short shirts and bikini tops soon hit the scene, revealing belly buttons everywhere, as well as the decoration attached to them. You may be surprised at who will be displaying a bead, stud or loop.

I have firsthand experience. Every day, I eat, sleep and shower with kisses one of those surprises. My wife decided after 15 years of marriage and two children that it was time to reward her flat stomach and newly tanned body with a personal milestone. Thus, the decision to get her belly button pierced was born and done without my knowledge. I must say that it was a welcome, attractive surprise.

During the day, my wife, served as president for a well respected accounting firm in Pensacola, Florida. When her workday was over (the one that pays the bills), she transformed into a suburban mother, head of the PTA, in charge of the baseball carpool and avid birdwatcher, whose idea of fun was spotting a rare woodpecker in the backyard.

In her spare time, while wondering the streets of Miami, in between a business meeting, she decided to do something a little out of her character. Upon arriving home, she entered our home a “new, refreshed woman.” The reason was a new silver loop with a silver butterfly attached, this declaration was hanging from her navel.

She deserved it after successfully losing the unwanted extra pounds from the birth of our second child and she had exercised and ate right for many months to achieve the physique she now adores. The body piercing was a daily reminder of her success in dieting and eating right, as well as a reminder to stay in the shape that makes her proud enough to show off her bare stomach.

This is common amongst many women like my wife, who decide to pierce. The rise in belly piercing among women over the age of 35 is rising. There is no official count, but the proof is in the pudding. Cosmetic surgeons and other doctors have reported remarkable statistics for the demographic, with a substantial increase in the past two years. It is the latest trend and no, they don’t get permission from their husbands beforehand. Why should they? It’s a really cool surprise!

If You Are Looking For A Men’s Wedding Ring You Should Consider Titanium

Posted by Tips Guides in Jewelry

Have you checked out the newest Titanium rings? Are you considering them for your wedding bands? Consider the true meaning behind metal as jewelry.

Most of us, including myself, first heard of Titanium in reference to either military aircraft or human joint substitution. You might have the same argument I did: can’t jewelers think of something better than metal? But the Titanium jewelry industry is growing by leaps and bounds, and we can see a variety of justifications for this metal jewelry’s popularity.

Titanium, Ti on the periodic table, is a strong metal, as most people understand it. Alone, it is not hard enough for most of the purposes where we see it used today, but instead the alloy produced from it offers incredible strength and resistance to heat. Additionally, this metal does not fall into the precious metal category like silver, gold or platinum.

You don’t have to know a lot about precious metals to appreciate the high quality of titanium. It is like not knowing all the details behind a 5 star restaurant; you just know that it is good! But knowing why titanium is such an awesome metal will help you appreciate it even more when you decide to purchase a ring or other piece of jewelry.

So, then, why do people even consider Titanium jewelry? The same superior tensile strength and hardness that makes it popular as a metal makes it popular as Aerospace engineers use Titanium 6.6.2, made up of Titanium, aluminum, vanadium and tin. Jewelry, such as wedding bands, made of aircraft grade Titanium thus can withstand the wear and tear of everyday use without suffering the same visible scratches that gold and silver do. Additionally, the strength of Titanium makes it a perfect symbol for the eternal bond of marriage compared to the less durable silver and gold.

Titanium has also become a big hit in the fashion jewelry industry. For example, jewelry gurus drool over the tension set diamond rings in the form of an open circle with a diamond mounted in the openings. It’s one of the most sought after designs, and few metals can be used in it. Also, the anodization qualities of Titanium make it attractive. Anodization occurs when a metal, like Titanium, reacts with different chemicals in electrolytic solutions and turns into different colors like green or blue. Thus Titanium has become more versatile than other metals in fashion. Finally, jewelry designers have begun to combine Titanium with other metals to create some gorgeous creations, like twisting gold and silver with it to form an inlay. Engineers create men’s Titanium rings with gold or silver inlay by bombarding the ring in a vacuum environment with a gold or silver atom beam in an angle that forces the metals to adhere to the ring evenly.

Jewelry allows individuals to express themselves through accessories. Men’s Titanium rings signify a man who is staying ahead of the fashion trend and valuing the subtle inspiration of the effect of technological advances. He desires to be one of the few with one of the strongest rings on the market.
