Anti Aging Skincare Treatments Can Make You Look Younger

Post by Keblack in Beauty

Our faces are the most often seen parts of our body, and unfortunately, the skin on the face is usually the very first to show the signs of our age. And while the changes that our bodies go through as we age are mostly inevitable, there are in fact several measures that we can take to help reduce the signs of those changes. A simple anti aging skincare regimen can help to keep our skin looking as young and healthy for as long as possible.

Anti-aging skin care is helpful not only for women, but for men as well. There are many products available on the market today that are made for specific skin types or conditions such as brown spots, sun damage as well as for wrinkles and fine lines. But with so many products and treatments available, how is one to know which would be the best for their skin?

By learning the basics of anti aging skin care you will not only be able to reverse the signs of aging but also able to prevent future ones from appearing as well. Here are some of the most commonly used ingredients in the world of anti aging skincare products.

One common substance found in many skin care products is called allantoin. This ingredient has been found to smooth the surface of the skin, aid in the regeneration of new cells and generally help to better the overall appearance of the skin.

AHA or Alpha-Hydroxy Acids have been clinically proven to be an effective ingredient of anti aging skincare products. An AHA is primarily used to exfoliate the skin which stimulates its natural ability to repair itself. AHA’s can also increase the production of collagen and improve the skin’s elasticity along with the overall appearance in general. Enlarged pores or skin that has acne will also benefit from the use of an alpha-hydroxy acid as well.

Salicylic acid, also known as beta hydroxy acid or BHA, has also been tested and shown to be an effective ingredient in anti aging skincare. BHA is particularly beneficial to people with oily skin and is said to improve acne as well as skin tone and texture. The normal concentration of BHA used is generally in the one to two percent range.

Collagen has recently been studied for use in the fight against aging as it increases the hydration of the skin, which is essential for improving signs of lines and wrinkles. And another promising research study recently conducted has found that copper-peptides may be useful for firming the skin as well as enhancing its natural protective abilities and improving its elasticity.

Certain vitamins such as A, E, C and K have been used in a variety of anti aging skincare products and are helpful for a number of conditions. Retinyl palmitate, a derivative of vitamin A, has been found to be a milder alternative to the use of tretinoin on the skin, and is also known to be gentle and non-irritating to even sensitive skin. Products containing vitamin C have been shown to increase collagen production and even to help minimize scarring of the skin. L-ascorbic acid is another form of vitamin C that is widely used and is also said to promote healing of the skin as well as to minimize the appearance of wrinkles.

Vitamin E has been long known as an effective antioxidant, and one that improves not only the moisture content of skin, but one that also heals and helps the skin to naturally protect itself from damage. Vitamin K is useful for anti aging skin care due to its effectiveness in treating broken capillaries or bruising especially under the eyes where the skin is thinner and often more sensitive.

The substance lycopene which is commonly used in diets to build antioxidants and ward off diseases such as cancer has been studied recently in a topical form. These preliminary studies have shown that lycopene can improve the tone and texture of the skin, but further research still needs to be completed before the full benefits or effects are known.

The hormones progesterone and estrogen have also been studied and considered for use in anti aging skin care treatments. Estrogen has shown to improve the appearance of wrinkles and firm skin as well as increase collagen production. The topical use of estrogen is still in the initial clinical phases and further testing needs to be done before its effects on the skin are fully understood.

A natural approach with promising preliminary results for anti aging skincare is the use of green tea. Green tea is said to reduce puffiness in the skin, diminish fine lines and wrinkles, decrease inflammation and also reduce large pores. Sufficient quantities for a topical cream are still under review; however, the antioxidants in green tea are known to be beneficial for a host of other health reasons as well.

Regardless of the product or method you use in your anti aging skincare regimen, consistency is critical for the best long-term results. And most professionals will agree that you don’t necessarily have to spend a lot of money to help your skin stay younger and healthier looking. Simple cleansers that clean but also gently exfoliate the skin followed by the use of moisturizer are usually recommended as a part of any successful skin care program.

Has Organic Become Another Word For Chemical?

Post by Sadhivm in Beauty

The term organic is starting to become a trend. More and more companies are labeling their products as being natural or deriving from all natural substances. Regardless whether you are someone who wants to play an active role in environmental awareness, you want to protect your face from harsh chemicals, or you have sensitive skin, you should be able to recognize the truth from the fiction that are being placed on labels.

The primary concern of any consumer that is trying to purchase organic skin care products should be that there is no regulation as far as putting organic on a label. Many skin care companies that claim to be organic friendly actually put carbon in the mix of their products. So, how can you tell what your skin care line really has in its ingredients? You should always check the labels before you purchase any organic skin care product.

If you see that a product is organically certified, it means that they have passed regulations of the food and certified organic standards. Make sure that the product you are buying does not contain any pesticides or synthetic products on the label. There are many companies who bet on the fact that the consumer will not take the time to read the label and they will buy their product based on the front title of the product. Do not be lazy and think that reading a label is going to take a long time.

Once you know what to look for, you will be scanning labels left and right in a matter of seconds. Some of the common things to look for on the ingredients listing for organic products are the first four ingredients. The first four ingredients, by law, make up most of the product. You should also beware of products that list water for one of its first ingredients because that will mean that the product is mainly water and little else.

Also, you should check to see if you recognize the words. The key to organic is that it is natural, so if you do not recognize any of the first few words, they are probably synthetic. Lastly, it would not take much time to print out a short list of the most common synthetics and pesticides found in beauty products on your home search engine. You could print out the list, laminate it, and then keep it handy when you are shopping for your beauty regime.

You can also go to the most of all natural extremes and try your own concoctions at home. There is nothing like using a mask of mayonnaise and Vaseline in order to put some moisture into your dry and flaky skin. Witch Hazel mixed with tea tree oil and Aloe Vera will make a great cleanser for the face while drying up any acne that may be lingering.

You can also mix some sea salt and Vaseline for a great exfoliate. I learned a great trick from my great grandmother that has been passed down for generations in my family.

They are a mixture of herbs that are sold in a box at health food stores. You take a couple of tablespoons of the herbs and boil them in a pot of hot water. After they have boiled for a good five minutes, drape a towel over your head and let the steam from the pot open up all of the pores on your face. You will be disgusted and amazed at the stuff that will come out of your dirty pores, and you will have instant results that cost less than any facial. Now that is what you call organic.

Fashion Design Schools: Choosing The BEST Among The Rest

Post by Rpiper31 in Fashion

Do you know how to sew?

Do you enjoy creating designs?

Do you love following or changing patterns to come up with a piece of clothing?

If fashion is simply just your passion, then you might just be right for a fashion design school.

Here are some reasons why you should attend a fashion design school:

1. You will learn about the most up-to-date styles that many people would consider buying.
2. If you are unsure whether you will be able to make a living out of your interest in fashion,
your level of confidence will greatly increase once you obtained a degree.
3.Studying about and later working on, a field that you love is very rewarding.
4. You will learn about the various principles behind the patterns you have worked on in the
past, as well as the ones you will be working on in the future.
5.You will also be knowledgeable on mixing and matching colors to magnify the shape and cut
of your creations.
6. You will know more about keeping your clothes together - other than just stitching! Talk
about endless possibilities.
7. Fashion design school will expose you to different kinds of people, working with them,
incorporating their ideas with your own, and developing relationships with those who share
the same feeling toward fashion.
8. These relationships will set the foundation for meeting potential employees, employers, or
business partners; all whom you will need when you start your foray into the fashion world.

There are numerous fashion design schools globally. Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, found in London, is considered by some as the most famous of them all. Other world-renowned schools are The Royal College of Arts in London, the London College of Fashion, Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, AIU in Los Angeles, and Parsons The New School for Design in New York City.

Most courses in the schools mentioned above last for about three years.

The next question, however, will be, how do you choose the best school for you?

Here are 10 helpful tips to help you in your decision making:

Tip#1- - Determine what you would like to major in. From there, search for a school that offers
the program that you like.

Tip#2- - Have a list of criteria that you would like to take a look into in your search for the perfect
fashion design school. These criteria may include program offering, major and minor
subjects, costs, location, placement record, and many more.

Tip#3- - You may now construct a list of candidate fashion design schools.

Tip#4- - Gather all necessary resources and information about each of your candidate
school. Find their websites and research.

Tip#5 - - Narrow down your list further by using the criteria you have set in Tip#2.

Tip#6 - -Inspect the schools left on your list. It would be good if you can visit these schools
personally. But if not, try to obtain a video or look for a virtual tour in their websites.

Tip#7 - - File your application to the schools that met your criteria.

Tip#8 - -While waiting to hear from the schools you sent your application to, search for
scholarship grants in the Internet.

Tip#9 - -Make your final decision based on the responses you got from the schools that you
applied to, as well as the scholarship grantors’ response. Carefully review your notes,
consider funding, and finally, decide.

Tip#10 - -Get ready to embark on a journey that you have never quite experienced before!

Off you go to the one of the best fashion design schools in the world!
